1. Introduction

Crush Rewards ("Crush," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to transparency about how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It covers the Crush Rewards mobile app, our website, and the Crush Missions browser extension (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Name, email address, phone number, credentials you provide at registration, and your wallet address (used to pay rewards).
  • Spending data: Transaction details from linked payment cards and submitted receipts, including merchant names, amounts, dates, and product categories.
  • Product and pricing data: Public product information the Crush Missions browser extension reads on retail product pages (see Section 5).
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, app or extension version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage data: How you interact with the Service, including features used and session duration.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Calculate and distribute rewards tokens based on your activity.
  • Improve and personalize the Service.
  • Generate anonymized, aggregated insights that are shared with or sold to third-party partners (see Section 4).
  • Communicate with you about your account and the Service.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Anonymous Data Sharing

Crush Rewards generates revenue by sharing anonymized and aggregated spending and pricing insights with third-party partners, including market research firms, advertisers, and financial institutions. This data is always anonymized: it is stripped of all personally identifiable information before being shared. No partner can trace data back to you individually.

You are in control: data sharing only occurs for the data you explicitly opt in to share through the app's settings. You can adjust your sharing preferences at any time.

5. Crush Missions Browser Extension

Crush Missions is our browser extension. It lets you run price-check "missions": with your action, the extension opens product pages on retail websites, reads the publicly displayed product price, and rewards you in CRUSH for contributing it.

What the extension collects:

  • Authentication information: when you sign in with your phone number (through our authentication provider, Privy), a session token is stored on your device so you stay signed in.
  • Account identifiers: your Crush account identifier and wallet address, used to credit your CRUSH rewards.
  • Website content (product data): on the product pages a mission opens, the extension reads publicly available product information, including product name, brand, price, list price, availability, currency, category, the product page URL and retailer, and limited page context such as the region shown on the page and whether a promotion is displayed.
  • Technical information: we collect your IP address when you use our app, website, or extension, and use it for security and fraud prevention and to estimate approximate location (such as city or region).

What the extension does NOT collect:

  • It does not track your general browsing. It reads page content only on the product pages a mission you run opens, never during organic browsing.
  • Sensitive sites (for example banking, health and pharmacy, email, and social networks) are blocked: the extension never reads or transmits those pages.
  • It does not collect your browsing history, keystrokes, mouse activity, or location.

How we use it:

  • We aggregate the collected product-pricing information into Crush's retail-pricing dataset, which powers our pricing data products.
  • We use your account identifier and wallet address to calculate and pay your CRUSH rewards.

Sharing and sale:

  • Aggregated, de-identified product-pricing information may be made available or sold through our data products. This is public retail pricing data, not your personal information.
  • We do not sell your personal information (phone number, account identifier, or wallet address). We share personal account information only with service providers needed to operate the Service (for example, Privy).

Your controls:

  • Price capture happens only when you choose to run missions. You can stop at any time by not running missions, or by signing out (which clears the stored session).
  • You can request access to or deletion of your data as described in Section 6.

6. Your Choices & Controls

You have the right to:

  • Opt in or out of data sharing categories at any time through the app settings.
  • Access your data: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us or using the in-app account deletion feature.
  • Unlink payment cards or stop submitting receipts at any time.
  • Stop price capture at any time by not running missions in the Crush Missions extension, or by signing out of the extension (which clears the stored session).

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption, secure storage, and access controls to protect your data. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party providers for authentication, payment processing, analytics, and rewards redemption (for example, Privy for sign-in). These providers have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data necessary for these integrations to function.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
